The weekend finally came!

Picture is from google images:

So, this past weekend it was the draft. For all you who do not know its the 75th year of drafting so drafting is a very important event to NFL folks. Well, this year the draft was an absolutely emotion disaster! There were teams who had good news, shocking news, bad news and decent news. Instead of talking about every person and what team they were drafted too I am going to just talk about the ones I felt were a big shocker too me. For me that was how actually decent the Raiders did in their drafting. They did smooth decision instead of their quick people they drafted. I am surprise they picked up Darrius Heyward-Bey seventh. I thought that was kind of quick to pick him up considering he wasn't priority for my top favorite players. But, otherwise the players that the Raiders choose was great. I was just mainly shocked how well they Raiders did this year. In previous years they did not do that well. But, of course I can't leave without talking about my Giants and who they received. I was excited that they picked up Jason Pierce-Paul I been following him and I feel he will be very beneficial for the Giants. Many people never heard of him but he is quick and has strength! We need that type of qualities on the Giants. Another person they picked up in which I was very happy about from the Nebraska Team was Phillip Dillard. I was actually thinking lately that we need another linebacker so I am glad we picked him up. He seems very dedicated and tough player who will complete the duties of a rookie. The drafting was very interesting to watch even my own mother was informing me all the rounds when I was not able to be watching it!

Draftingggg

- This picture was taken off of google -
Ah! So does anyone know what this weekend is! It is drafting time! I am so excited !! I can not wait to see what teams choose what players. I feel that many teams needs new players for different positions. For example, I feel the New York Giants need a receiver. Lately, our receivers have been someone who you would consider butterfingers. We need a player who can catch the ball and keep control of the ball. People said are issue was the quarterback but in all reality Eli Manning is a great quarterback its our receivers that need more work. This draft is making all teams very antsy. Everyone is curious how this drafting is going to occurs. Some football fans who I have chatted with have even said they aren't sure how they are going to like these drafting changes. People are wondering if there teams are going to make good decisions or bad decisions. However, the really mystery is who, what, when and to where is the number 1 draft going to be. I can not wait until the weekend is finally here! For other news I found out the first team my New York Giants will be playing in the off season! The New York Giants will be playing against the Panthers. I do not know the locations and what time and day but as soon as I know I will post the info!

Seattle Getting Ready

Picture taken from google.com

In the NFL all teams must be prepared in case people leave or change. For example, the Seattle is getting prepared in case LT Jones retire. Now who is LT Jones? For all those who are not familiar with Football and Jones, LT Jones has been playing NFL football for 13 seasons he is on on the Sea-hawks and is 36 years old. His position in football as an OT. LT Jones has been in and out of rehabilitating due to a serious knee injury. He has gone through surgery to surgery to get his knee to be much better but due to age its quite hard to be perfect again. The Coach of the Sea-hawks pretty much stated that we can not sit around and wait to hear what LT Jones is going to do. We must move on and assume that he will not be returning, if he does return back to the team it will just be an extra bonus to the team. My feel to this situation is I am on the coaches side. People can not wait around for people to let them know if they are returning or not. If every NFL team waited for players to inform they they will returning or retiring last minute the NFL teams will have no practice and be horrible. I am very curious to see what happens for the Sea-hawks team and if LT Jones will be retiring. I think he should retire though especially with his age condition.

Redskins get a New QB

Breaking news happened over the weekend which for some reason I never saw it coming. But, the Eagles quarterback is no long their quarterback. Washington, Redskins now have McNabb as their new QB. In all fairness it was stated that he most likely would rather be with the Eagles for the 12th season but of course that did not happen. McNabb is 33 years old and has a decent record as a quarterback. Now my say on this, I do really like the Eagles whoever they lose I usually get excited as long as they do not take my Giants players! But, in all fairness the Redskins do need a good quarterback. The Redskins records lately have not been best to their ability. I believe that maybe McNabb we do good for their team and help them get back on track. I can not wait until the season begins because I am very interested in seeing all these trades but to work. Actually, I want pre-season to begin cause that is when you see what time is hot!

Drama in the real world of football players

So lately I have been discussing about football teams and about drafting on different teams. I figured I change it up this week. I recently just read an article dealing with the NFL player Holmes from the team the Steelers. According to the Police Holmes is some how involved with an incdent that occurred in Orlando, Florida. In a night club where Holmes was hanging out a woman claimed he had threw a cup at her. Holmes stated, "another woman hit her with the cup". But, what seem to be something so small came out to be something bigger than it really should be unless Holmes is lying. Holmes told the police that the woman who said that Holmes threw a cup at her actually grab his arm and into her face and called her unnecessary names because he asked for his seat back in VIP section. Both stories seem not o be connecting or smiliar. In my opinon I believe the woman who Holmes was who is a Super Bowl XLIII MVP and decided to take advantage of him. I do not understand a person sueing or filing a law suit for a so call thrown of a cup. Although, Holmes is involved with possession of marijuana I still think he is taken advantage in this particular case.

Hard Times

It's the off season and coaches, players and managers are still in debates on who to keep on their team, who they want to pick up or who to get rid of it. It is hard decisions for everyone they have to look at not only themselves in the situation but how are they beneficial to the team. For the New York Giants there is one player who both the coaches are struggling in decided if they should keep him to the team. This player is Umenyiora. Giants coaches do not know if they want to keep him on the team for next season because of his injury and other side conflicts that occurred. During the off season Umenyiora is trying to keep his head held one and avoid any controversy. Instead of Umenyiora putting his input in how he feels about not knowing if he is going to be on the team for the season he is just assuming he is and doing his best. Umenyiora promised that he would be no issues for the Giants and trying his best not to upset the Giants. I feel bad for Umenyiora he is a good player although, he did have injuries and rough patches during seasons. I think the New York Giants should take into consideration that he is doing his best not to get the media involved. It is hard times for him and the time and I hope the New York Giants take him back.

Certain things can't change the Dolphins minds

Although, Jason Ferguson who was traded in 2008 from the Dallas Cowboys to the Miami Dolphins is suspended to 8 games in 2010. This suspsension was lead because he failed to follow the rules and regulations of the league's performance enhancing drug program. Now with this suspension of not being able to play the first games of the 2010 season you would think either Ferguson would go into retirement since really no one would draft him or pick him up to be on a team. Well, wrong the Miami Dolphins decided to re-sign Jason! Supposedly, the Dolphins had stated that the re-signing of Jason had no reference to this violation. I think its very intersting that the Dolphins did not take into consideration the fact Jason did not follow rules but still the re-sign him. It will be interesting in the season of 2010 after 8 games how long it takes to play him. Jason is 35 and had a major injury due a sidelining incident back in one November. Many people assume Jason was going to retire but I guess that answers everything opinions. I can not wait until the football season starts again!

Some Lions and Chargers News!

So recently I have read up about the Lions and Chargers looking about trading Antonio Cromartie. Mr. Cromartie is a cornerback for the Chargers who have shop for him. Mr. Cromartie has been with the Chargers for a few seasons but Chargers are now unsure if it was the right idea of having Antonio Cromartie. As soon as the Detroit Lions heard the news they contacted the Charagers right away. I find it very interesting how much intersts the Lions have for Antonio! Even Mr. Cromartie has no complaints. He had stated that he has complained many times to the Charger Coaches but the plays and they way he played. Antonio himself believe maybe its a good idea to move on. Of course no official trades can happen until March 5. It will be intersting to see how this trades goes about. I hope Cromartie is still able to be on a team! Although, I do not really follow the Chargers my Godfather is a huge fan and he even agreed with the Charagers maybe releasing Antonio Cromartie

Some Dolphin News

So it is time for me to change it up lately I have been talking about the New York Giants and Colts and Saints. NFL of course has many other teams in the NFL and important people. The one story I found to be interesting to write about was the Miami Dolphins. Jason Taylor who is a liner back for the Miami Dolphins is 35. He just went under arthroscopic shoulder surgery. Unfortunately, for Jason he will be out for three months until he is able to get back to his workout routine. But, there is even more worse news for the this player on March 5th he will be come as an unrestricted free agent and as the looks of it no one will be signing him. His agent Gary Wichard said he would be returning in May, which teams start, creating there teams and picking players. Taylor made a statement that he does want to return for his 14th NFL season. When I heard that, I was rather shock because I did not even know Taylor was playing for the NFL that long. Taylor does want to go back to the Dolphins but vice president of the Dolphins has not made any statements or throughout is letting Taylor return. I am definitely going to be keeping up with this story to see what happens to Jason Taylor.

Upsetting news as a Giants Fan

So football season is over, although the games are over the gossip and drama and news is not. The first news that I heard this week lead me to complete shock. The New York Giants let go a very good and skilled player named Antonio Pierce. Antonio Pierce wore the number 58 on his Giant's jersey. Pierce signed with the Giants in 2005 as a free agent. He played for the NFL for 9 years. For the New York Giants he was a great linebacker. Unfortunately this season was a rough season for Pierce. For about maybe the last 5 games of the season Pierce was out due to injury dealing with a disc. Since Pierce is 31 years old and had this reoccurring injury that seems to have a difficult time healing the New York Giants manager and coaches found it the best to let him go. I was very upset to hear he was gone. Other people who I know that are also Giants fans disagreed with the move they did. Although I am upset I do see why the Giants made the move. A man at the age of 31 and with a injury that is having trouble healing I don't blame the Giants not wanting to keep him. The manager and coaches are looking out for who will make them due better next semester no injury is needed when they want to improve the team. Good Luck to Antonio Pierce in whatever you decided to do or go.

The Results

The Superbowl was something I was hoping for a better result. I was going for the Colts. Before the game began it started with the national anthem. There were two famous singers. First Queen Latifah sang. I thought her performance was very well done. The following singer was Carrie Underwood which I absolutely loved the performance. After the singing the two teams went to the middle of the field and the coin toss started and the big game began. As I mentioned last week I really wanted the Colts to win but unfortunately the Saints did. In the first half the Colts seem to be taken the game. Peyton Manning looked awesome like he always did. His throws were excellent and receivers were did a good job catching the ball. The Saints defense was decent but it was not the full potential. Colts were the first team to score. During the first quarter Colts scored 10 and Saints scored 0 points. The second quarter the Saints scored 6 points and the Colts scored 0. As halftime came around things became to change. First off, the half time show was done by the famous band called The Who. Then the second half of the game began the Saints looked stronger than ever and the Colts became weak. Peyton Manning throws were going no where. An Interception occurred where the Saints made a touch down the pretty much one would says that gave them the game. In the third quarter the Saints scored 10 and the Colts scored 7 points. As the last quarter came along the Saints scored 15 points Colts scored 0 which determined the Saints won the game. The final scored 31 to 17. Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints for winning their first Superbowl.

The Big Game

The big game is this Sunday Night!!!! I am excited but not super excited. I really wanted my New York Giants to go all the way but unfortunately that did not occur. This year the super bowl is taken place in South Florida. It is super bowl XL IV. This year the two teams that are competing is between the Colts and the Saints! Everyone I know has told me to go for the Saints considering they haven't been in the super bowl for a while. But, I do not listen to everyone else I am going for my Colts. One reason why I am going for the Colts its because Eli Manning brother Peyton Manning is on that team. Since I was younger I been following football and the Manning's family has great history in the NFL. Eli and Peyton father was a great football player for New Orleans back in the day. But, unfortunately Archie Manning did not get the right amount of fame he should of received. Eli Manning is another great quarterback. Now its Colts year and Peyton is another extremely good quarterback who truly has a lot of skills. Another reason why I am going for the Colts is because its another team I truly appreciated. The coach and the way the team works together in my opinion is has great success. This Sunday I know for sure I will watching the Super Bowl and saying go COLTS! This game is going to be a very good game to watch!

Pro Bowl

This Sunday I am very excited to watch Pro Bowl. Pro Bowl is when two teams are created with a few chosen players from all different NFL teams. These two teams are called the AFC and NFC. AFC is the American Football Conference and NFC is the National Football Conference. Since I am a hardcore Giants fan I will be cheering for the NFC. Some of the players who play on the NFC are Smith, O'Harra and Snee who are from the NY Giants. There are also players from Arizona, Green Bay, Philly, Carolina, Atlanta, Dallas, and San Francisco. The Giants players who are in the NFC this year will be playing on the offense live line. The quarterbacks for the NFC include Rodgers from Green Bay, McNabb from Philly and Romo from Dallas. Although for me personally I am not a fan of Dallas and Philly this will be the only time I will be cheering for those quarterbacks! I enjoy the pro bowl being the weekend before super bowl because it gives me a Sunday weekend of something to watch on television. For anyone who does not know the following weekend is the Super Bowl Go COLTS!!
